National Assistance Card now available to Autistic people and people with brain injury across the country

The National Assistance Card is expanding and is now available to Autistic people and people with brain injury across Australia. This means you’re more likely to see it in the workplace and community.

The Card is a personalised support tool that helps people to communicate their needs without having to repeat themselves, explain or share out loud.

Each Card includes areas of difficulty as identified by the cardholder, and a unique QR code, which once scanned shares a written or video message from the cardholder about how to best support them.

When it’s shown, the Card helps people delivering support, or in areas like retail, transport or emergency services, give cardholders the type of assistance they need.

Because someone might show their Card in lots of different situations, it’s important that businesses, organisations and services in the community know about the Card too and know how to respond.

[Insert the name of your organisation or business]is proud to be making sure we are National Assistance Card aware.

This means our teams are given information about what to do when someone shows their National Assistance Card.
